The Sansevieria originates from the arid regions of West Africa, where it had to survive the hot desert climate and developed into an extremely sturdy plant. In the 1960s and 1970s, Sansevierias were an essential feature of grandma’s interior decor and classroom window sills. This was because it was one of the few plants able to survive the long summer holidays. Strong as an ox, but also quite boring. The Sansevieria gradually disappeared, until this wonderful plant was rediscovered just a few years ago. New varieties with unusual colours and shapes began to emerge, leading to a huge resurgence in demand.

Now, you will often find Sansevieria as an office plant, because it helps purify the air and is an undemanding plant that’s easy to care for. Our range includes a wide variety of Sansevierias from our own nursery, both in soil and hydroculture.
